Irène Joliot-Curie – French Inspiration

Irène Joliot-Curie was a French chemist, physicist, and politician. Here are some fun facts about her! – She is the eldest daughter of Marie and Pierre Curie.

– In World War I, she worked with her mother to issue mobile X-rays.

– In 1925, she received her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Paris.

– She married her colleague (who was also granted a nobel prize with her when they discovered artificial radioactivity), together, they fought against Nazism and facism.

– During World War II, she lived in Switzerland recuperating from tuberculosis.
