The First Employee At Facebook Spain

Laura González-Estéfani was the first employee for Facebook in Spain, and she spent almost 9 years supporting the platform’s growth in Silicon Valley, Miami, Spain, and Portugal. As the first executive of Facebook’s international growth team in Europe, she also led Facebook’s development in Spain and Portugal, then took charge as the Director of Growth, Mobile & Partnerships.

With this background, Laura’s main aspiration became to assist entrepreneurs through TheVentureCity – an accelerator of developing ecosystems focused on expansion and globalization. With offices in Silicon Valley, Miami, Madrid, and Sydney, their team is composed of former employees of Google, IBM, and eBay.

Since founding TheVentureCity, Laura has also become a member of The European Council (which has a €3 billion budget and seeks to fund inventions in Europe) and also joined the Payments and Consumer Board of Caixabank.
