News-O-Matic Essay Writing Contest

Hi Everyone!

I’m excited to announce a fun Essay Writing Contest that is being sponsored by our new partner, News-O-Matic. Here’s the information on how to participate.

CONTEST DETAILS/RULES

WHO: This contest is open to all children (age 14 or younger) living in the continental United States.

WHAT: The theme of the contest is “Who Inspires You?”  Interested students need to write an essay about one of the National Women’s Hall of Fame’s 302 existing inductees — plus any women from the Class of 2023. Be sure to explain in your essay why she inspires you.

Click here to read the profiles of notable National Women’s Hall of Fame inductees that have been published in News-O-Matic. The full list of inductees can be found here.

All submissions must be original work. Essays must not be more than 500 words. There is no charge to enter, so students can submit as many stories as they’d like!

WHEN: All entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (PT) on Tuesday, April 11.

WHY: The winning student and a parent/guardian will earn a free trip to Seneca Falls for the  National Women’s Hall of Fame (NWHOF) induction ceremony in September — and will participate firsthand in the festivities.

HOW: Submit entries on the News-O-Matic website here. Each entry should include the student’s name and age, a guardian’s or teacher’s email address, and a title.
